Worshiping the Sun in the Vedas were rituals for health and prosperity mainly by using mantras as they described different qualities of the Sun; the tantric traditions used the fluidity of movement in a different way and later Sri T.Krishnamacharya put the Vinyasa element into the yoga practice; what we know today as Sun Salutations.
These sequences help to: 1) warm the body up while we IN and EX along with the movement, 2) to expand the energy levels into the body, 3) to build strength..
